THE CONCEPT IN A NUTSHELL

Carte Blanche is a contest for creatives, by creatives that celebrates creativity in transit shelter advertising. Submitted work will be judged by the creative community and only the creative community. That means no one will ask for a bigger logo, more ‘wow effect’ or a snappier call-to-action. In other words, creative bliss.

So don’t wait… it’s time to register, brainstorm, submit, comment, like and if you’re any good… win.

Step 1 REGISTER. From March 17 to May 6

This is the easiest step because all you have to do is fill out the registration form. Unless your creative coordinator has already done it for you.

Once you’ve registered, you’ll discover the pure joy of being able to comment, vote, and even submit ads.

Step 2 SUBMIT. From March 17 to May 6

Here’s where it starts to get fun because now you have to create something.

But before you get started, there are a few things you should know:

  • Creative has to fit on a Bus Shelter intended for Toronto (68¼" H x 47¼ L).
  • The ad(s) submitted must be low-res.
  • You need to have a high-res copy of your work, just in case we decide to print it.
  • You’re creating an ad for one of your clients, with their approval. Not for clients of another agency. And not for an imaginary client that makes flying cars.

Step 3 VOTE. From May 7 to May 12

The time has come to pick your favourite ad. Once voting is completed, the top 10 ads compete in the finals. Just remember, you only have one vote. So make sure you think about it before you commit to your favourite.

Step 4 VOTE. AGAIN. From May 13 to May 20

The moment of truth has arrived. 10 finalists, but only one winner. Now, it’s all up to YOU.

Step 5 HAVE FUN. May 31

You’ve worked hard. Burnt the midnight oil. Created your dream Bus Shelter ad. Now it’s time to celebrate. That’s why Carte Blanche is inviting the top 10 finalists to a special evening where we reveal the winning entry. And because we believe, the more the merrier, each finalist can invite 10 of their friends.

Step 6 LEAVE FOR CANNES. From June 19 to June 25

Congrats! You’re the big winner. We always knew you had it in you. Now it’s time to bask in the glory with a trip to Cannes for the International Festival of Creativity. Wait. You didn’t win? No problem, because you can still partake in the pleasures of the Croisette through the magic of the web.
